How to wear a midi skirt?

The midi skirt is undoubtedly one of the most difficult piece of clothing to wear. Yes but what is exactly a midi skirt?. Do not panic, we'll explain everything!

The midi skirt is a rather close-fitting skirt that goes just below the knee. The spirit is clearly retro, and most people tend to believe this garment is only for secretaries and business women. Nope! Just forget this stereotype.

Victoria Beckham, the famous fashionista did it at some point. And that suited her so well that she has even created a line of dresses going below the knees. The stars of the world love her creations: we even saw Leighton Meester(aka Blair Waldorf) to wear in Gossip Girl.

To wear a midi skirt, the best option is to perch on your heels. And the higher the heels the better. This allows the leg to elongate(by optical illusion), and therefore does not seem packed into her skirt. In order to achieve this you can wear short socks.

And what about tops? How you should you match? Wear a blouse, sweater or a t-shirt with long sleeves. But do not wear anything too baggy, the aim is to highlight your figure.

How to survive winter?

Here it is, the cold is well and truly back. It is time to bring out the winter clothes boxes. Yes but be careful! This is not because you can no longer wear light outfits that you can’t be fashionable! Here are some ideas that should help you ...

First idea: recycle your summer clothes.
The little shorts your wore on the beach, don’t store them! With a nice pair of opaque tights and ballet shoes, you are ready for winter. Ditto for the dresses that you liked so much.

Second idea: accessorize your outfits.
Any Flash Dance fans? Get off the gaiters! With leggings and sneakers, you can look awesome. Alternatively, if you want to wear big socks, wear them with boots (with the sock being slightly visible) .

Third idea: match your outfits.
You wear a pink beret or a cap, why not match tights with those? You can replicate the concept with just about anything, such as gloves. Just try it!

Socks + Sandals?

There's no need to be a fashionista to realize the socks/sandals combo is quite common these days; even big name designers are using those in their collections. Still one question remains: should we dare?

  • Fashion is subjective, follow your instincts but be careful at the same time.Don't hesitate to experiment and have fun.
  • Socks with sandals = quite a few stereotypes. One might think you're a choir girl;nothing wrong with that but that's not necessarily the image you want to project if you're an adult woman. Hence never combine socks with flat sandals.

So how do you manage to wear both? Simply wear flashy socks with basic sandals or ...combine daring sandals with solid socks.

Summer Trend: Harem Pants

Harem pants are a recurring trend in fashion which always triggers excitement. Inspired by oriental men's bowls trousers, harem pants may look somewhat odd at first glance

It is advisable to wear a tight top highlighting your forms to create a contrast with the pants' baggy appearance.

High heels are also preferable to refine the silhouette.

The Invisible mercerized Scottish ballerina Croquet socks are definitely a good match for the funky pants.

If you want to adopt a more casual attire, choose a black model (visual, model at Pimkie), you can complete your look with flat shoes like ballerinas and black and white Chouchou mercerized Bleuforêt socks.

Conclusion: Harem pants can be both stylish and elegant if you match well.

Summer Trend: The Espadrilles

A brief history of Espadrilles

Espadrilles have emerged toward the end of last century: the shoe was the original footwear of the Pyrenean Basque region, especially among farmers. Lightweight and rugged, it has been used in the early 20th century both in the context of the workplace and at home.

Espadrilles and fashion

Espadrilles have long suffered from a bad reputation after having sunk into mediocrity in the 90s, they have reappeared in compensated versions in the 2000s, and are experiencing a serious comeback this season. That's good news because these shoes are perfect for summer: light, with their canvas and soles made of hemp, they have the advantage of being more comfortable than conventional shoes or sandals. You can wear them with a skirt, or long shorts.

Espadrilles and socks: an impossible mix?

For example, proponents of the total look can match all the trends of the season by combining white socks, sneakers and sailors: do not forget to bring an offbeat touch with fancy accessories like a necklace of pearls or a pair of shorts with a big colored belt.

The most sophisticated fashionistas will opt for espadrilles worn with white socks to soften their outfit. You can also combine punchy colors for a colorful and summery result: all eccentricities are permitted such as these pink compensated espadrilles from Kate Spare. You can give a second life to your espadrilles by wearing striped and colorful socks.. Liberty patterns can also be an option.

You can add a modern touch with Bleuforêt Pschitt Mini-sox.
To match your espadrilles, go to the Bleuforêt online store which offers a superb selection of mini-sox and ankle-highs.
